nContact was founded in June 2005 by our technology team, who hold over 100 patents in ablation technologies and helped develop the first surgical and catheter ablation tools for arrhythmia treatment.

nContact was started because catheter and surgical ablation companies had not solved two technical issues: the ability to consistently create visible linear lesions that could be connected into a comprehensive lesion pattern, and the ability to position and ablate on the posterior of the atrium under direct endoscopic visibility.  

The primary goal in founding nContact was to develop technology and access capability to perform minimally invasive ablation procedures on a beating heart without any chest incisions or ports. Today, these technical milestones have been achieved which allows nContact to offer a cardiac ablation solution to patients who otherwise had no reliable treatment alternative.
